Motion graphics and video production in Dublin, from brief to final cut
Video is the quickest way to show a buyer what you do, and one of the easiest budgets to waste: a film made with no plan for where it will play often ends up as a file nobody finds. We start with the page, the ad or the feed it has to work in.
Mark and Adam Murphy lead the brief and the creative. Vetted film, animation and editing partners shoot, animate and cut, and we check every version against the brief before it reaches you. Our motion graphics and video production services give you:
- One accountable team. One brief, one contact and one invoice. If a cut needs another pass, we take it up with the partner, not you.
- Films made for where they will play. A widescreen master for your website, vertical and square cuts for social and a silent loop for a page hero, planned before anything is shot.
- Video your website can carry. We design and build websites too, so the film arrives with a page built around it that still loads quickly on a phone.
We produce films for businesses across Ireland from The Digital Hub in Dublin 8. Video is part of our marketing and video service, alongside campaigns and content.
Motion graphics, explainers and brand films we produce
A project often combines two or three of these.
- Brand films. Your story, told by your own people on location: the film a buyer watches before trusting you with an order.
- Motion graphics and explainer videos. Animation for what a camera cannot show, such as how your software works or how a service runs step by step.
- Product and launch videos. A new product, service or website, shown working. Our web promos show a client’s finished website in motion, ready to share on launch day.
- Social cut-downs. Vertical, square and widescreen versions for LinkedIn, Instagram, TikTok and YouTube, captioned, with the point made in the opening seconds.
- Website hero loops and reels. Short, silent loops for a page hero, compressed for the web, and showreels that put a body of work in front of a buyer.
- Web motion. Animation built into the site itself: scroll sequences, animated illustrations and Lottie files that stay sharp at any size.
Motion graphics, animation or live action?
Motion graphics is animation made from graphic elements such as type, icons, charts and interface screens, rather than characters or filmed scenes. It shows what a camera cannot: a process inside a system, a product still in manufacture, or a property development that exists only as renders. It is also easier to keep current, because a new price or screen is an edit to a file, not a reshoot.
Live action wins when trust depends on people and places: a founder, a team at work, a product in someone’s hands. Many strong films use both, and we recommend the mix in the consult, before anything is priced.
How a video production project runs
Video runs on our Consult, Design, Build method.
- Consult. Who the film is for, the one thing a viewer should remember, where it will play and what they should do next. It closes with a costed plan: one fixed price and a date for each stage.
- Design. The script, the storyboard or styleframes, and the direction for voice and music. You sign off the words and the look before a frame is shot or animated, while changes are cheap.
- Build. Our partners shoot or animate against the approved storyboard, while we run the schedule, check every cut against the brief and deliver each version the plan lists.
Shoots run on location, at your premises or in a studio, in Dublin or wherever the story is.
Video that works on your website and in your campaigns
Because Loco designs and builds websites as well, we plan where your film will play before anything is shot.
- On your website. A hero loop, a service-page explainer or a landing-page promo is planned with the page it sits on, so the copy and the call to action are ready the day it goes live. The page itself is our web design work in Dublin.
- In your campaigns. Paid social needs short cuts that make the point early, and a landing page that carries the message to the enquiry form, which our video marketing and campaign work covers.
Video is often the heaviest thing on a page, so where it sits is a speed decision too, as our guide to a high-performance website explains.
Film and motion on our client sites
Field Queens: a brand film shot on a GAA pitch
Field Queens sells GAA gloves and sportswear made for women players. Its brand film, shot in 4K on a GAA pitch and in the dressing room, runs just under two minutes: the two founders, both inter-county players, explain how the brand began and why the glove fits the female hand. Ten products were photographed again, and the store’s home page now leads with footage from the film.
Loco Digital produced the film and the photography with partners in 2024, as part of a store redesign by our Shopify developers in Dublin. Read the Field Queens case study.
Total Expo: motion built into the website
The design direction for Total Expo called for a site in motion: sections that build as you scroll, line drawings that trace themselves and a map that fills in point by point. Motion like this is written in code, so it stays sharp and follows the reader’s scroll. We set the pace, the easing and what each sequence does when someone scrolls faster than expected, using GSAP, ScrollTrigger and Lottie. Its 35-second web promo shows the scroll sequences in action.
We built the Total Expo website in 2024 from nine supplied desktop designs. Read the Total Expo case study.
The Printed Image: a website that opens on the production floor
The Printed Image is a Dublin print house with six services, from design and print to signage and client ordering portals. The site we designed and built in 2024 opens on film of the production floor, looping behind the headline, so a buyer sees the work being made before reading a word. A 37-second web promo of the finished site followed in 2025. The Printed Image case study shows both.
More web promos sit on the Altitude Internet and Trident Holiday Homes case studies, and our showreels are on the marketing and video page.
What sets the price of video production
Video is quoted per project as a single fixed price, ex VAT, agreed before any shoot day or animation starts. Four things move the figure most:
- Length and versions. A 30-second social ad and a two-minute brand film are different jobs, and each extra cut or format adds edit time.
- Shoot days, crew and locations. Each day of filming, location and extra camera adds cost, and actors or presenters carry their own fees. Animation needs none of these.
- Animation style. Kinetic type over footage is quicker than full illustration, and custom characters or 3D take longest.
- Voice, music and usage. A voiceover and licensed music each carry a fee, and where and for how long the film runs decides the licences.
A first film can be small: one explainer, one brand film or a set of cut-downs from footage you already have.
