The brief
A commission that looks like itself.
Loco Digital designed and built the Just Transition Commission website. The Commission is independent, and the brief asked for a site that does not look like gov.ie: its own navy and amber, set in Merriweather and Open Sans.
The home page
A film, then four principles.
The home page opens on the Commission’s own film, then sets out the four principles of a just transition. A sign-up for future publications sits under the hero, and an Irish-language version behind a switcher in the header.
Publishing
Every report, one click from its PDF.
Each publication card carries the report’s cover and its date. The news archive filters by category, and publications, commission members and recommendations are separate content types, so the secretariat can add a report or a member without a developer. Site search runs across all of it.
Accessibility
You can check this with a keyboard.
In July 2026 we carried out an accessibility programme on the live site. Links that open a new tab or a PDF announce it to a screen reader. The work ships as one plugin of our own, which changes no WordPress core, theme or third-party file, so it switches off in one step.
The result
Measured on the live site.
The HTML site is aligned with WCAG 2.1 AA and EN 301 549 as applicable to web content, based on automated testing, manual keyboard testing and template review. The Commission’s published accessibility statement says the site is partially compliant. PDFs were out of scope.
